NOT SO MUCH A ROOM WITH A VIEW BUT 'ROOMS WITH A VIEW'.
The
Tower's 175 apartments come in three sizes - two bedroom, three
bedroom and penthouse - and every room has a dramatic outlook,
either over the heart of the city or over the Indian Ocean. At
33 storeys tall it is far and away the tallest hotel in the country.
The
Hilton JAIC Tower is a landmark in more ways than one. When it
began it was the first five star establishment offering the special
services and facilities required for longer business and family
visits. It is still considered the best at what it does.
The apartments are by no means all alike. There are distinctive
differences in the 'look' and the colour of the furniture and
furnishings and, of course, the view varies too, so it is a good
idea to have a look at a couple of apartments before choosing
the one that best suits you. After all, it is more like choosing
your new house than merely a hotel room. There is a wonderful
sense here of being at ease and 'at home', while, at the same
time, living a life of serviced luxury.
If
you wish to serve yourself, there is the fully equipped kitchen
(with hob, microwave and all utensils) and a supermarket just
next door. There is also a fully automatic washing machine.
Should
you tire of cooking for yourself and family, the Hilton Tower
is close to many fine restaurants and clubs. One of the best of
these restaurants is on the ground floor of the tower itself.
The 'Union Bar and Grill' is a popular evening venue for seafood,
steaks and beer at the bar!
The
hotel's own restaurant is more private. It is on the third floor
next to the hotel's swimming pool and the other sports and recreational
facilities. The pool is excellent and so too the new courts for
squash and tennis, the gym, sauna and steam bath. Indeed there
really is everything here any guest could wish for, be it a long
stay or a short one.
