HOTEL SWANEE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS AGAIN,
having
been closed for major refurbishments between May-December 2000.
All the rooms, bathrooms and many of the public areas have been
completely renovated, giving the hotel a fresh new look.
The
clean, comfortable rooms are situated on either side of a wide
green lawn. Lined with flowering trees, that extend all the way
down to the renowned wide, golden beaches of Beruwela. The garden
can be best appreciated from the privacy of your own balcony or
terrace where the surrounding greenery creates a cool, still,
peaceful retreat, punctuated only by birdsong and scented with
flowers.
This
central garden sets the tone of the hotel. Guests, many of them
middle-aged or older couples, come here to completely relax, in
a cool quiet environment. The beach, too, is ideal for the older
generation. The golden sand here is very compact, creating a firm
foundation for long strolls on the vast expanse of a beautiful
tropical beach. As an alternative to the shady garden, the pool
area is a popular focal point during the day. Since the refurbishment,
the hotel has been operating on an all-inclusive basis, and in
addition to the three buffet meals, snacks and drinks are available
at the pool restaurant. In the evenings too, this is often the
place to be, with buffets frequently set up around the pool, along
with coloured lights and music. Every evening there is an entertainment
program, ranging from music to cultural shows. Or, in a quieter
vein, there are a variety of indoor games such as chess, draughts
and carrom, set up in a large pleasant games area near the main
restaurant.
The
extensive renovation programme, new all-inclusive concept and
dynamic new management have given the Hotel Swanee a brand new
image.
