THE KEY TO SUCCESS IN THE HOTEL BUSINESS,
it
has been said, is location. If that holds true then the new Taj
Exotica is assured the brightest of futures. Intricately built
upon its own rock promontory, the views in both directions along
broad, palm-fringed beaches are stunning and rarely matched anywhere
in the country.
The
best views are to be had up on the wide decks around the swimming
pool, which itself is a wonderful feature. With the indoor/outdoor
coffee shop adjacent, it is natural that much of the hotel's daytime
life revolves around this space, Below, narrow paths lead out
to the beaches through the lush bordering foliage that affords
all-round privacy and there is many a quiet, hidden spot in the
perfectly manicured garden.
The
Taj Exotica is a place to relax in luxury. The interior décor
is as plush as the garden is lush. Everything speaks of its five
star status: the wooden pillars and high ceilings, the expensive
tiles, the thick carpets, rich cushions and gilded ornaments.
Equally, the level of maintenance is impeccable.
The rooms come in five distinct categories, based on their size
and view. Some ground floor rooms open out to the garden, whilst
all the others have sea views. They all have the facilities and
details one would expect from a prestigious hotel. But more than
anything, it is the level of staff service and commitment, the
hallmark of the Taj Group, that really impresses the stamp of
quality upon the place.
Another
signature of the Taj Group is fine cuisine and the Exotica does
not disappoint. The changing buffets of the Palms Coffee Shop
are indeed special, particularly, and not surprisingly, the Indian
night. The Sea View seafood restaurant
and the Oriental Pavilion present fine dining in elegant
privacy.
A
large conference room and separate board room are available for
those combining business with pleasure. And wedding packages are
offered for those combining commitment with pleasure! However
you come, you are sure to find relaxation, first class service
and glorious views.
