ONE OF THE FIRST HOTELS TO BE DEVELOPED IN THE KALUTARA AREA,
the
Tangerine Beach is still one of the most charming. Pass through
the lobby and enter an enchanting water world - layered pools
with cascading waterfalls and bubbling fountains, ducks and water
lilies. Built around this magical water garden, the hotel's design
is simple and open, making the most of the stunning sea, pool
and water garden views.
The
rooms too are attractive and all are air conditioned with balconies.
The superior rooms are identical to the standard but with a sea
view. The deluxe rooms have the additional facilities of a TV,
mini-bar and hairdryer as well as a sea view.
Guests
are increasingly opting for an all-inclusive package and will
find no shortage of bars and restaurants. The main restaurant
overlooks the sea and all three meals are usually buffet. For
snacks the coffee shop, next to the swimming pool, is open between
10am and 6pm. For panoramic views of the sea, pool and gardens,
and an a la carte menu, there is the supper club. The lounge bar,
overlooking the water garden, is popular in the evenings and is
the location where much of the evening entertainment programs
take place. There are also bars in the coffee shop, supper club
and the swimming pool.
The
Tangerine Beach Hotel is closely connected to the Royal Palms
Hotel next door, sharing not only the same management but also
each other's facilities. This arrangement gives guests of both
hotels access to a wide range of activities, including tennis,
squash, badminton, shiatzu and herbal massage and a gym.
The
arrangement is also advantageous for conferences. The Tangerine
Beach has a large conference/banquet hall and guests can be accommodated
in both hotels. It is also popular for weddings, being only 40
km from Colombo.
The
Tangerine Beach is conveniently located for conferences, weddings
and a relaxing beach holiday.
