THE VILLA OCEAN VIEW IS SITUATED IN A BEACH FRONT,

ten acre landscaped coconut grove, just 35kms south of Colombo. From the moment you step into the lobby you are transported into a green tropical garden. A spectacular jungle waterfall leads to the vast cool, green grass of the coconut grove, which wraps itself around the hotel and swimming pool. Even the roof tops are green! For sunset cocktails there is no more romantic a spot than the roof top garden terrace with its breathtaking view over the Indian Ocean.

Secluded in all the greenery are the cabana rooms, four to each villa, with balconies or terraces, and attractive indoor-garden bathrooms. The new wing contains the superior rooms identical in décor to the cabanas but considerably larger, and all with sea view balconies.

With all the space and a good variety of activities, the Villa Ocean View attracts a lot of young people as well as many families. The swimming pool, certainly, is among the major attractions. It's really a series of inter connecting pools, with an interesting, irregular shape, lots of shallow areas for children and submerged hydro-spas. Children are also happily entertained by the children's playground, mini-golf, and a visiting elephant that even has its own bath where children can help out at bath-time. For active young people sporting facilities include tennis, badminton, volleyball and water polo and for rather less active people, there are two massage centers, one for regular massages, and one specializing in herbal massage.

All three meals are buffet with a really good, wide selection and an interesting variety of theme nights. For all-inclusive guests, snacks such as burgers and chips are also available at the pool bar.

Evenings are lively and fun, with some form of entertainment every night, including karaoke and a live band three times a week.
